Jiaxing in Zhejiang province arranged for foreign trade enterprises to participate in the Hong Kong Toy & Game Fair as Hong Kong resumed quarantine-free travel in January, accelerating the market recovery.

The fair has injected new vitality into toy companies in the city that faced a depressed market during the COVID-19 pandemic.

During the fair, Jiaxing Jima Toys Co Ltd's participating team prepared dozens of new samples and sent emails to regular customers to meet at the exhibition, said a higher-up at the company.

During the exhibition, the company's team contacted more than 30 prospective customers, of which nearly 20 were new customers. A Thai customer and an Indonesian customer also placed orders onsite.

The China (Indonesia) Trade Expo will be held in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, from March 16 to 18.

To further expand into new markets, the Jiaxing municipal bureau of commerce and the Jiaxing municipal council for the promotion of international trade has been preparing charter flights to participate in the exhibition.

ASEAN, including Indonesia, has become the city's largest trade partner. Statistics show that in 2022, the city's trade with the ASEAN market totaled 80.32 billion yuan ($11.84 billion), up 41.3 percent year-on-year.
