Chocolate recently has entered sales season, and Mars Food (Jiaxing) Co Ltd in Jiaxing, Zhejiang province, has seen a surge in exports in recent days.

Since the beginning of the year, overseas demand for chocolate has increased. The company has received many orders, said Ouyang Liping, foreign trade department manager of the company.

Chocolate products are one of the main food exports that pass through Jiaxing Customs. They are sold to more than 20 countries and regions, such as New Zealand and Malaysia.

Jiaxing Customs pays close attention to the trends of foreign laws and regulations to ensure smooth exports. It guides enterprises to carry out production in accordance with the requirements of importing countries and organizes special training to improve the self-inspection and self-control abilities of enterprises.

It also focuses on strengthening the control of additives, production process control, and product traceability labeling management.

In addition, it guided Mars Food (Jiaxing) Co Ltd to make full use of various free trade agreement preferential policies, which reduced the company's costs, added Ouyang.

A total of 22.78 million yuan ($3.32 million) in chocolate products has been exported through Jiaxing Customs in 2023. Among them, 10.5 million yuan of the exports have benefited from free trade agreements.
