Haining sees booming online retail sales

The online retail sales of Haining, a county-level city of Jiaxing in Zhejiang province, totaled 65.26 billion yuan ($9.52 billion) in 2022, a year-on-year increase of 3 percent, according to the Haining commerce bureau.

Haining is currently home to 10 provincial-level e-commerce towns and 105 provincial-level e-commerce professional villages.

E-commerce professional villages are administrative villages with annual online retail sales of more than 10 million yuan and more than 50 active online stores.

An e-commerce town is a town with three or more e-commerce professional villages, or a town with annual e-commerce sales exceeding 30 million yuan and more than 300 active online stores.

More than 6,000 enterprises in the city and over 32,000 individuals are engaged in e-commerce, and there are more than 2,000 live streaming e-commerce anchors.

In 2023, the city will strive to achieve a total online retail sales of 68 billion yuan, and cross-border e-commerce is expected to reach 2.5 billion yuan.
