Tongxiang's foreign trade exceeds 60b yuan in 2022

Tongxiang's imports and exports totaled 61.53 billion yuan ($8.97 billion) in 2022, a year-on-year increase of 20.6 percent.

The city's exports were valued at 43.66 billion yuan, up 28 percent year-on-year, while imports were valued at 17.87 billion yuan, an uptick of 5.7 percent year-on-year.

Leading enterprises were still the most important driving force behind the city's foreign trade growth.

The city's top 20 export enterprises achieved a total export value of 26.45 billion yuan, up 47.7 percent year-on-year and accounting for more than 60 percent of the city's total exports.

The city's export commodities gradually expanded from traditional textile products to mechanical and electrical products, new materials, new energy, medicine and chemical products.

In the past year, the city's trade market expanded.

In 2022, the city's trade with RCEP countries reached 21.6 billion yuan, up 26.2 percent year-on-year. Exports reached 13.89 billion yuan, a surge of 47.7 percent year-on-year.

A total of 690 enterprises in the city traded with countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative, with cumulative imports and exports valued at 25.47 billion yuan, a year-on-year growth of 27.6 percent. Exports were valued at 20.15 billion yuan, growing 38.2 percent year-on-year.
