Total retail sales of consumer goods in Haiyan county, Jiaxing, Zhejiang province, reached 18.32 billion yuan ($2.65 billion) in 2022, a year-on-year growth of 5 percent, the highest growth rate in the city, according to the Haiyan commerce bureau.

Over the past year, the county has stimulated market vitality by issuing consumption coupons and holding promotional activities.

A total of 40 million yuan in consumption coupons were issued in the county, increasing consumption by 360 million yuan.

A total of 10 million yuan in spring and summer automobile consumption coupons were issued, generating 257 million yuan in consumption.

An increase in disposable income also boosted consumption.

In 2022, the per capita disposable income of urban residents in the county was 74,280 yuan, an increase of 2.8 percent, while that of rural residents was 47,155 yuan, up 6 percent.

Last year, the Hangzhou Bay Sunac Resort operated for 77 days, receiving about 230,000 visitors and earning about 37 million yuan, up 79.69 percent and 76.2 percent, respectively.

Online consumption also saw a boom last year.

In 2022, online retail sales of physical goods in the county amounted to 4.74 billion yuan, an increase of 13.2 percent over the previous year.
