2 Jiaxing villages recognized as national traditional villages
Two villages in Jiaxing – Liuli village in Ganpu town and Maming village in Zhouquan town – were recently included on the sixth list of traditional Chinese villages released by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development.
The city is now home to five national traditional villages, 12 provincial-level traditional villages and 64 municipal historical and cultural traditional villages.

Liuli village in Ganpu town, Haiyan county boasts rich cultural and historical resources and ancient buildings.
In the Song and Yuan dynasties (960-1368), the village was the inland river transport dock of Ganpu Port, an important trade port.

Maming village in Zhouquan town, Tongxiang, has a rich traditional folk culture, including sericulture customs, acrobatics on a high pole over a boat, Huagu Opera ("flower-drum" opera), and morning tea customs.
The Tongxiang sericulture ecosystem was selected as part of the sixth batch of China's important agricultural cultural heritage items, and acrobatics on a high pole over a boat were included in the third batch of national intangible cultural heritage items.
