The digital strawberry factory in Dongyuankou village, Qingtian county, Lishui, Zhejiang province has recently experienced a bumper harvest.

Due to the small area of arable land and the constraints on traditional fruit cultivation, Dongyuankou village is a key support village in the province.

Pinghu, a county-level city in Jiaxing, and Qingtian county have used Yuankou village as a demonstration site for rural revitalization, investing 1.09 million yuan ($158,241) into the construction of the first strawberry digital factory in Qingtian county in September 2022.

The annual output value of the 1,000-square-meter digital strawberry factory was 250,000 to 300,000 yuan. Dongyuankou village enjoys an annual rental income of 50,000 yuan and a 10 percent dividend.

The establishment of the factory created jobs for low-income farmers, with 20 farmers living nearby finding jobs at the factory.

In recent years, Pinghu has offered various forms of assistance to Dongyuankou village in terms of capital, technology and talent, with a total investment of 12 million yuan.

In 2022, the collective operating income of Dongyuankou village exceeded 250,000 yuan, an increase of 23 percent over the previous year.
