Wild bird exhibition underway in Jiaxing

The 2023 Rare Wild Bird Photography and Popularization Exhibition was held on April 8 at the Jiaxing Culture and Art Center in Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province, and will last until April 17, according to local media reports.

April is the publicity month for wildlife protection in Zhejiang, and April 10 to 16 marks Zhejiang's 42nd "Bird-loving Week".

So far, 259 species of bird have been found in Jiaxing. Among them are three species of wild birds under national first-class protection, including pelicans, yellow-billed egrets, and yellow-breasted bunting.

Forty-six species of wild bird in the city are under national second-class protection and more than 30 are under provincial special protection.

Photos of eight species of wild birds under national first-lass protection and 54 species under national second-class protection are displayed at the exhibition. All of them are national key protected bird species that have been observed and recorded in Jiaxing. This is the first time they have been exhibited in Jiaxing.
