Jiaxing in East China's Zhejiang province recently rolled out a program for the establishment of an advanced manufacturing industrial cluster from 2023 to 2027.

The city will focus on investment attraction, competitive business cultivation, quality improvement, and innovation over the following years, according to the program.

By 2027, the operating revenue of the enterprises above designated size from the advanced manufacturing industrial cluster in Jiaxing will exceed 1.2 trillion yuan ($174.42 billion), accounting for more than 50 percent of that of industrial companies above designated size in the city.

All the districts and counties in Jiaxing will cultivate at least two featured industrial clusters valued at over 50 billion yuan by the same year to include new materials, new-generation network communications, photovoltaic industry, and new energy vehicles.

Jiaxing plans to launch more than 700 digital transformation projects each year until 2027 and by that year the city is expected to have built 40 national-level green factories.

For example, the high-end numerically-controlled machine tool industry in Pinghu, a county-level city in Jiaxing, is part of the city's advanced manufacturing industrial cluster.

In 2022, the output value of the numerically-controlled machine tool companies above designated size in Pinghu totaled 13.4 billion yuan and Pinghu was home to eight whole-machine enterprises and more than 70 accessory manufacturers.

By 2027, Pinghu plans to introduce more than 30 high-end numerically-controlled machine tool projects and the industry is expected to generate over 45 billion yuan in output.
