The number of visitors to Nanhu Lake scenic area in Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province has risen rapidly since April, with an average daily reception of more than 7,000 people. The maximum daily tourist reception of the scenic area exceeded 10,000 people.

Nanhu Lake scenic area, which houses the Red Boat where the first national congress of the Communist Party of China was convened 100 years ago, is a good destination for Red tourism, which features tours of sites related to the nation's revolutionary history.

The tourism teams visiting Nanhu Lake scenic area were mainly from Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shanghai, Anhui, Shandong and Beijing.

A cycling team from Hohhot, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, visited the scenic area when riding through Jiaxing. Sitting on a hand-cranked boat, climbing up the Yanyu Tower and admiring the Red Boat, they were very impressed, said one of the cyclists.

In addition, as the May Day holiday is approaching, the scenic area specially launched rich night activities featuring shopping, delicacies and tours.
