Exports from Jiaxing in East China's Zhejiang province totaled 79.97 billion yuan ($11.56 billion), a year-on-year increase of 12.6 percent.

This rapid growth can be attributed to companies' efforts to obtain orders overseas.

For example, on Dec 4, 2022, the city sent a delegation to participate in the Asia Fashion Fair in Japan.

This exhibition boosted Jiaxing's textile and clothing exports in the first quarter. In April, Jiaxing will continue to arrange for delegations to participate in the Spring AFF.

Meanwhile, Jiaxing enterprises showed enthusiasm for and determination to explore emerging markets in countries and regions along the Belt and Road.

At the China (Indonesia) Trade Expo held in March, 127 companies in Jiaxing chartered flights to attend the exhibition and received $110 million in intended orders.

Last year, the city exported 105.1 billion yuan in goods to countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative, up 22.6 percent year-on-year.

In addition, from April 17 to 26, a delegation from the city visited Europe for economic and trade exchanges. Agreements for two major industrial projects were signed, with a total investment of over $600 million.
