The World Internet Conference is calling on the public to submit their scientific and technological achievements in an effort to promote innovation.

The international organization's secretariat said on Tuesday that submissions from government departments, international associations, social groups, research institutions, colleges and universities, technology communities, companies and innovation teams from home and abroad will be accepted until June 21.

The ceremony announcing the achievements is a major event that has been held for seven consecutive years at the annual WIC Wuzhen Summit in Zhejiang province.

Submissions of the achievements could not only lead to pioneering innovations in science and technology, but also promote technical exchanges and cooperation. Furthermore, the ceremony acts as a global platform to display the applicants' work, according to the secretariat.

Websites were launched for those engaged in scientific and technological work on Tuesday to help them submit their achievements, the secretariat said, specifying that this year's collection will focus more on basic research, key technology and engineering research and development.

The international organization was set up in July last year and is headquartered in Beijing. Its establishment was meant to serve as a global platform and work with the world to build a community with a shared future in cyberspace.
