Jiaxing ranks 2nd in water resource management system assessment

Jiaxing ranked 2nd in the 2022 Zhejiang water resource management system assessment, eight places higher than the previous year, according to the Jiaxing water resources bureau.

Jiaxing has promoted the intensive and safe use of water resources, improved the supervision capacity of water resources and strengthened the protection of water resources over the past year.

The water quality compliance rate of Jiaxing's centralized drinking water sources at or above the county level in 2020, 2021, and 2022 was 100 percent.

In 2022, the city's total water consumption was 1.85 billion cubic meters, and water consumption per 10,000 yuan ($1,413.51) of GDP was 27.5 cu m, down 4.5 percent compared with 2021.

The utilization rate of reclaimed water from sewage reached 24.20 percent, and 13.28 million cu m of reclaimed water was directly used in industrial production.

In addition, the city has been focusing on water conservation. In 2022, its industrial water consumption decreased by about 8 million cu m.

Jiaxing, and Haining, a county-level city of Jiaxing, were designated as national water conservation cities, and Pinghu, a county-level city of Jiaxing, was designated as a provincial water conservation city.
