American-Chinese basketball star Jeremy Lin visited Xincang town in Pinghu, a county-level city of Jiaxing in East China's Zhejiang province, to unveil the "Jeremy Lin Three-Point Heart Public Welfare Tour—Jeremy Lin Basketball Hall" and attend the opening ceremony of Pinghu Xincang Basketball Sports Town on June 18.

The opening ceremony of "Yixin Home" was also held on the same day.

"Yixin Home" is a family memorial built by Xincang town to commemorate and promote the good deeds of Lin's great-grandfather Chen Wei-chien and grandmother Chen I-tzu and record Lin's personal growth and contributions to Pinghu.

Xincang town is the hometown of Lin's grandmother. In 2011, Lin visited Pinghu for the first time to trace his roots. In 2019, he opened a training camp in the city.

Lin has been concerned about Pinghu for many years and has helped promote the city's sports culture and public welfare undertakings.

In the 2019-2020 season, Lin announced on social media, "I will donate 3,000 yuan ($419.23) to a charity organization for every three-pointer I make this year," marking the start of the "Three-Point Heart Public Welfare Tour" project.

"I hope that through my own public welfare projects, more children in Pinghu will take an interest in basketball," said Lin.
