Jiaxing sees hot cultural, tourism market during Duanwu Festival

As of 1:00 pm on June 24, Jiaxing's scenic spots at the A-level or above, as well as scenic villages at the 3A-level or above, had received a total of 900,000 visitors during the Duanwu Festival holiday, generating 750 million yuan ($104.47 million) in tourism revenue, year-on-year increases of 121 percent and 445 percent, respectively.

During the three-day holiday, Yangtze River Delta tourists accounted for 88.5 percent of the city's total tourists. Among them, tourists from within the province accounted for 54.52 percent, while those from outside the province accounted for 45.48 percent. The top three regions for tourists from outside the province were Shanghai, Jiangsu and Anhui.

The city's three 5A-level tourist attractions received 383,400 tourists in total, an increase of 281.04 percent year-on-year.

The 2023 Jiaxing Duanwu Folk Culture Festival, featuring a series of cultural activities, was held over the holiday, attracting throngs of visitors.

A total of 321 public cultural activities were held in various public cultural venues in the city, with 337,687 people participating on-site and 256,441 people participating online. The number of offline participants increased by 216.66 percent compared with the same period last year.
