Jiaxing makes outstanding achievements in rural development
Jiaxing has continued to promote the development of rural areas under Zhejiang's Green Rural Revival Program for the past 20 years. It has explored a scientific path to comprehensively promoting rural vitalization and increasing farmers' incomes.
Recently, many peach farmers went to a centralized peach selling field in Sanxing village, Nanhu district in the early morning. They said expected to sell the peaches they picked at a good price.
Weng Fengxiang, one such farmer, has been planting peaches locally for more than 20 years. He can earn tens of thousands of yuan per year from selling peaches.
"Social security is paid by the government for me and my wife. We grow peaches as a side gig. The income is good and we live happily," said Weng.
Jiaxing also insists on developing modern agriculture to promote rural vitalization.

According to Li Qingchao, head of the Xiangjiadang Agricultural Digital Factory in Nanhu district, modern agriculture has a yield per mu (0.067 hectare) around four to five times more than that of traditional agriculture. One person can manage 3,000 square meters of greenhouses, using four to five times fewer personnel than the traditional model.
As of the end of 2022, the average income of farmers in Jiaxing had reached 46,300 yuan ($6,389.8), ranking first in Zhejiang province for 19 years in a row. The income gap between urban and rural residents has narrowed to 1.56:1, and the regular income of all villages has reached 1.5 million yuan, with operating income reaching 500,000 yuan.
