In the first five months of this year, Jiaxing Port's container throughput ranked 17th among all ports in the country, and its growth rate ranked first among the top 20 ports in the country.
With the recovery of economic operations, the port saw a production peak in March. Important cargo such as coal, mineral building materials, and containers all increased significantly on a monthly basis, driving Jiaxing Port's monthly cargo throughput to 13.33 million tons, an increase of 27.23 percent year-on-year and a record high in monthly throughput.
The Jiaxing maritime bureau has been continuously deepening government service reforms and optimizing the business environment.
For example, innovative customs clearance approval models have been created to improve cross-border trade facilitation at ports.
The one-time pass rate for international navigation ship entry and exit inspection business increased from 83.4 percent in 2022 to 92.5 percent in the first half of 2023, greatly improving declaration quality and customs clearance efficiency.
