The feasibility study report for the westward extension of the Hangzhou-Haining Railway was recently approved by the Zhejaing Provincial Development and Reform Commission.

Total investment in the extension project amounts to approximately 1.03 billion yuan ($115.69 million). It starts at Wenzheng Street Station and ends at Linping South High-Speed Railway Station. The total length of the line is about 1.04 kilometers.

There will be one station, which will connect to phase 1 of the Hangzhou Metro Line 18.

The project will improve the efficiency of travel from the Hangzhou-Haining line to the main city of Hangzhou by allowing people to transfer to Hangzhou Metro Line 18.

In addition to shortening the distance between Hangzhou and Haining, the project will promote the integrated development of the two cities and integrate Haining into the Yangtze River Delta and Hangzhou Metropolitan Area.
