Zhejiang Xinke Motorcycle Technology Co Ltd in Tongxiang, a county-level city of Jiaxing in Zhejiang province, produces and exports about 150 electric motorcycles every day.

"After three years of research and development, the Tongxiang-made electric motorcycle has finally been mass-produced and was launched this year," said Yang Changyun, the company's general manager. "Last week, the company delivered an order of 10 containers, and we have three more containers waiting to be shipped. We expect to produce 5,000 vehicles this year," added Yang.

Yang believes that electrification is an irreversible trend in the motorcycle industry.

The difference between four-wheeled vehicles and two-wheeled vehicles is not as simple as a difference in wheel count.

For two-wheeled vehicles, the motor must be at least 60 percent smaller than for four-wheeled vehicles. So using the remaining 40 percent of the capacity and ensuring that performance is not reduced is a major challenge.

More than 30 million yuan ($4.17 million) was invested into the product design, development and creation of the production lines. The company has a clear product positioning - high end, high speed and high endurance.

"The motorcycle market, especially the new energy motorcycle market, is still a vast blue ocean, and in Europe, the motorcycle market has huge potential. Whoever first grabs the tuyere can snatch the market," Yang said.
