Income of rural residents in Jiaxing remains high

According to the Jiaxing investigation team of the National Bureau of Statistics, in the first half of 2023, the income of rural residents in Jiaxing remained the highest in Zhejiang province, while the urban-rural gap remained the smallest in the province.

In the first half of the year, the per capita disposable income of rural residents in the city expanded 6.6 percent to 27,801 yuan ($3,878), the highest among the 11 cities in the province.

The average wage income of rural residents was 19,275 yuan, an increase of 6.6 percent, net operating income was 4,495 yuan, up 6.7 percent, net property income expanded 4 percent to 1,108 yuan, and net transfer income saw an increase of 7.3 percent to 2,923 yuan.

The per capita disposable income of urban residents was 38,117 yuan, an increase of 4.5 percent over the same period last year.

For urban residents, average wage income was 24,352 yuan, an increase of 4.6 percent, net operating income totaled 3,398 yuan, an uptick of 5.5 percent, net property income was 3,479 yuan, an increase of 2.3 percent, and net transfer income reached 6,889 yuan, an increase of 4.8 percent.

The per capita disposable income of all residents in the city was 34,327 yuan.
