In early July, a Sino-German art exhibition co-organized by the Jiaxing Diyuan Art Museum and the Bonn Contemporary Art Museum in Germany opened in Youchegang town, Xiuzhou district, Jiaxing.

Ren Rong, an artist who has lived abroad for a long time, is one of the "matchmakers" of the exhibition. In his opinion, art is flowing, and artists need more dialogue.

Ren was born in Nanjing, Jiangsu province, and graduated from the Dusseldorf National Academy of Art in Germany. He has held solo and group exhibitions in many countries and regions. This time, his two sons also came to experience the collision and integration of cultures.

"The art museum has a very artistic architectural style. I am studying art history and so happy to come here to witness the interaction of Western and Eastern art. I am very interested in traditional Chinese landscape paintings, calligraphy and porcelain, and I will continue to learn," said Ren Lin, Ren Rong's son.

At the Jiaxing Diyuan Art Museum, so far more than 10 exhibitions of art from Italy, Mexico, Australia and other countries have been held, providing artists with a broad platform for communication and enriching the cultural lives of the people of Jiaxing.

The Swan Lake area where Diyuan Art Museum is located is also one of Jiaxing's key scientific innovation areas. Relying on its good environment and a series of scientific innovation activities, talent from home and abroad are flocking to the area.

Stephen Fox Bruce from Britain started Jiaxing Ouxin Photoelectric Technology Co Ltd, a technology enterprise, at the Shanghai Jiaotong University (Jiaxing) Science Park with a Chinese friend in 2013.

"Jiaxing gives people a sense of security. The government has always been advocating environmental protection concepts. I basically ride my bike to work every day. There are many innovative companies in the park. The overall atmosphere and environment are good," Bruce said.

Bruce, his Chinese wife, and their twin children are living happily in Jiaxing. Bruce said the city is quiet but vibrant, just like himself. Every weekend he takes his children to Xiuhu Park or to nearby cities to climb mountains and go camping.

"Working and living in Jiaxing is a very valuable life experience and our family will continue to live here," said Bruce.
