The parallel session of the 12th China Children's Drama Festival and Xiuzhou Children's Drama Art Season began in Luodong village, Xincheng town, Xiuzhou district, Jiaxing, Zhejiang province on July 20.

The China Children's Art Theater believes that a good children's drama can influence a child's life. Children's drama is a part of aesthetic education and can improve aesthetic literacy, cultivate sentiment, and stimulate innovative and creative vitality.

In 2022, Xiuzhou district joined with the China Children's Art Theater to set up the Jiaxing parallel session of the China Children's Drama Festival and became the Jiaxing Art Practice Base of the China Children's Art Theater.

In Xiuzhou, children can watch and participate in high-quality children's dramas. Xiuzhou has created a children's drama performance team.

Children's art has vast development potential, said Liu Dewei, Party chief of Xiuzhou district.

Since 2022, Xiuzhou has been working to improve operation management, team building and brand building through cooperation with the China Children's Art Theater.

The festival will last until Sept 17 and feature seven classic children's dramas, including Journey to the West, The Little Match Girl, and Peter Pan. A total of 30 performances will be held.
