Jiaxing's GDP up 7.7% in H1

Jiaxing's gross domestic product (GDP) totaled 328.05 billion yuan ($45.9 billion) in the first half of 2023, a year-on-year increase of 7.1 percent.

During this period, the added value of the city's primary, secondary and tertiary industries reached 6.21 billion yuan, 177.2 billion yuan, and 144.62 billion yuan, up 3.4 percent, 7.7 percent and 6.6 percent, respectively.

The total output value of the city’s agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishing industries reached 10.41 billion yuan, an increase of 3.4 percent year-on-year.

The added value of the city's above-designated-size industrial enterprises amounted to 137.47 billion yuan, an increase of 9 percent.

The city's fixed asset investment increased by 12.5 percent year-on-year, the second highest growth rate in Zhejiang province.

The total retail sales of social consumer goods in the city stood at 118.69 billion yuan, up 10.1 percent – 1.8 percentage points faster than in the first quarter.

The city's imports and exports were valued at 211.05 billion yuan, an increase of 2.8 percent year-on-year.

Its financial revenue expanded 15.2 percent to 69.75 billion yuan, while general public budget revenue was 40.87 billion yuan, maintaining third place in the province after a year-on-year uptick of 8.7 percent.

The per capita disposable income of urban residents in the city was 38,117 yuan, up 4.5 percent, while that of rural residents was 27,801 yuan, up 6.6 percent. The income ratio of urban to rural residents was 1.37:1, down 0.03 compared with the same period last year.
