Jiaxing's Nanhu district exported 17.16 billion yuan ($2.36 billion) in goods from January to June, an increase of 8.4 percent.

During this period, enterprises in the district actively explored the global market and expanded exports, receiving a total of $303 million in intended orders.

In the first half of this year, 276 companies in the district went abroad to explore markets overseas. In June alone, a total of 47 companies in the district went overseas for exhibitions and business negotiations, obtaining $25.07 million in intended orders.

Zhejiang YAT Electric Appliance Co Ltd is an internationally renowned manufacturer of electric tools and garden tools in the district. In the first half of this year, the company's turnover reached nearly 700 million yuan.

"Sales in Europe and America account for 90 percent of the company's overall turnover. In addition to these two key markets, this year the company began expanding into two emerging markets: Southeast Asia and Russia," said Zhou Peng, sales manager at YAT Electric Appliance.

Every year the company attends exhibitions held in Europe and the United States. At the Garden Lifestyle Trade Fair held from June 18 to 20 in Cologne, Germany, YAT Electric Appliance received $1 million in intended purchase orders.
