Jiaxing Port: A thriving hub for trade, industry

Jiaxing Port, located in the Yangtze River Delta region, has seen a surge in cargo and container throughput this year, ranking second in China in container throughput growth. The port had 125 berths by the end of 2022, of which 41 were 10,000-ton berths.
From January to June, Jiaxing Port saw a cargo throughput of 70.51 million metric tons, an increase of 11.88 percent year-on-year. The container throughput was 1.66 million TEUs, an increase of 22.94 percent year-on-year.
From January to July, Dushan Port achieved a cargo throughput of 32.27 million tons, an uptick of 7.89 percent year-on-year.
With the advancement of smart terminal construction, overall operational efficiency has been further improved at Dushan Port.
At the terminal, material picking and delivery in the yard has been automated, increasing picking efficiency by 35 percent. In addition, the loading and unloading of ships in the outer sea and inland rivers will also become automated.
From January to July, Dushan Port achieved a container throughput of 330,000 TEUs, an increase of 19.37 percent year-on-year.
