The world will witness a dazzling display of Asian Games award ceremony hostess uniforms next month. They are the result of a collaboration between professor Wu Haiyan from the China Academy of Art and the Haining Home Textile Fashion Fabric Innovation Center in Jiaxing, Zhejiang province.
The design and production process took more than two years, and faced many challenges.
To turn the design draft into reality, in 2021 professor Wu sought the help of He Rong, the design director of Haining Home Textile Fashion Fabric Innovation Center, which is located in Xucun town, a famous textile town in China.
The center has produced many excellent works, including the Chinese gifts at the Tokyo Olympics and souvenirs at the China International Import Expo.
He Rong and his team overcame many difficulties, such as finding the right mix of materials, weaving the whole fabric with patterns in just one piece, and coloring the fabric manually to achieve a natural and lively gradation.
During the production process, the design draft of the uniforms also underwent various reviews and constantly had details fine-tuned Every time there was a new adjustment, He Rong and his team had to follow up and optimize landing samples again.
They eventually managed to create the final version of the uniforms, which perfectly represent the style, culture and aesthetics of China. Each uniform took 12 hours to complete.
