A new energy cruise ship featuring the flags of various countries set off on Aug 28 from Jiashan county in Jiaxing to Hangzhou, the host city of the 19th Asian Games.

This cruise ship was built by Jinjia Shipbuilding Co Ltd and purchased by Hangzhou Water Public Sightseeing Bus Co Ltd. During the Asian Games, it will provide sightseeing services for tourists from all over the country.

It is the first new energy cruise ship to be built for the Hangzhou Asian Games and took five months to complete.

"This is not the first time we have customized a ship for a major event," said Zhu Jinhong, general manager of Jinjia Shipbuilding Co Ltd. In 2010, the Shanghai World Expo multi-functional survey boat was also built by the company.

"'Guijin' is specially tailored for the Asian Games, with a large passenger capacity of up to 66 people. It uses a lithium battery, which makes it quiet while operating," said Zhu.
