On Sept 19, good news came from the Xiangshan Banbianshan Beach Volleyball Center in Ningbo. Wang Fan from Jiaxing, Zhejiang province, and her partner Dong Jie, defeated a Tajikistan duo with a score of 2:0.

Wang admitted that she and her partner Dong are a relatively young combination and need opportunities like the Asian Games to hone their skills. "I and my partner Dong Jie only got together at the beginning of this year. The Asian Games is a good opportunity for us to learn to work together."

Despite their recent pairing, the duo has performed well. In April this year, in the final of the Asian Beach Volleyball Tour in Thailand, Wang and her partner Dong won the championship, making it Wang's first gold medal of 2023.

Wang also said that she hopes to work with her partner and stand on the podium at the Asian Games. "My dream is definitely to stand on the podium, but no matter what the outcome is, we will do our best," said Wang.
