The National Intellectual Property Administration has approved Jiaxing to build a national-level intellectual property protection center, which will focus on the high-end equipment manufacturing industry. This will bring the total number of such centers in China to 65, with five in Zhejiang province.

Jiaxing has a strong industrial base and advantages in equipment manufacturing, which is a key industry for both the province and the city. The city has produced many leading enterprises in this field, such as Wentai, Jinko, Longji, and Hezhong.

From January to June, the city's high-end equipment manufacturing industry achieved an added value of 35.85 billion yuan ($4.91 billion), ranking third in the province.

Jiaxing also has a rapid development of intellectual property work, with 27,775 valid invention patents, ranking third in the province. Its patent application volume in the high-end equipment manufacturing industry was 29,794 in 2022, accounting for 10.1 percent of the provincial total and ranking fourth in the province.

The intellectual property protection center will speed up the patent examination and authorization process, reduce the examination cycle for different types of patents, and enable enterprises to quickly transform technological innovations into patents and market advantages. It will also smooth out rights protection channels and provide precise services to help enterprises.
