3 athletes from Jiaxing selected for Asian Para Games
The inauguration ceremony of the Chinese sports delegation for the fourth Asian Para Games in Hangzhou was held in Beijing on Oct 11.
According to the Jiaxing Disabled Persons' Federation, three athletes from Jiaxing were selected, namely Zhang Tianxin, Yu Li and Wu Limin, who will compete in three events: archery, rowing and football, respectively.
Zhang Tianxin will participate in the men's compound bow W1 individual elimination, team and mixed team events. He is a wheelchair archer who has won several national and international medals, including a gold medal in the archery W1 mixed team at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
Yu Li will participate in the PR3 mixed four OARS with coxswain. He has shown strong potential and perseverance in the sport, and has achieved impressive results in various competitions.
Wu Limin will participate in the blind football.
The fourth Asian Para Games will be held in Hangzhou from Oct 22 to 28, 2023. It is a multi-sport event for athletes with disabilities, featuring 22 sports and 564 events. More than 3,800 athletes from 44 countries and regions are expected to take part in the Games.
