Jiaxing, a city in Zhejiang province, held the opening ceremony of the 2023 China (Jiaxing) Industrial Equipment Expo on Oct 13. The expo showcases the city's achievements and potential in equipment manufacturing, one of its pillar industries.

The expo aims to build a platform for information and technology exchange, trade and negotiation for manufacturing enterprises, and to seek solutions for quality improvement, efficiency enhancement, transformation and upgrading.

This year's expo covered an area of 20,000 square meters, with 1,000 standard booths. It has attracted 164 enterprises from various fields such as hardware tools, intelligent warehousing, new energy and service trade.

Jiaxing has been hosting the expo for seven consecutive years. This year, the city has also been promoting enterprise research and development and innovation and comprehensively promoted the intelligentization, greening and service-oriented development of the equipment manufacturing industry.

The high-quality development of enterprises has injected new vitality into the city's economic development. Data show that from January to August, Jiaxing's above-designated-size equipment manufacturing industry achieved an added value of 81.67 billion yuan ($11.18 billion). The added value growth rate was 15.9 percent, ranking third in the province.
