The 134th China Import and Export Fair, or Canton Fair, the largest trade fair in China, kicked off in Guangzhou on Oct 15.

Jiaxing, a city in Zhejiang province, sent a large delegation of 490 companies to showcase their products, occupying a total of 936 booths, an increase of 291 booths over the last session.

Jiaxing companies had 168 brand booths in 15 exhibition areas this year, an increase of 50 percent over last time.

Jiaxing exhibitors also improved their exhibition methods. All of them opened online showrooms and registered for online negotiations and live broadcasts during the fair.

For example, Zhejiang JEC New Energy Technology New Energy Co Ltd used the "cloud showroom" to present its products to domestic and foreign customers online. Nearly 10 percent of the company's orders have been online since it participated in the Canton Fair in 2020.

Jiaxing also encouraged enterprises to develop new products for the market. During this year's fair, Jiaxing exhibitors had 37,000 exhibits, of which more than 10,000 were new products.
