Jiaxing athlete breaks world record at Asian Para Games

In the men's W1 team archery open final of the 4th Asian Para Games in Hangzhou that ended on the morning of Oct 26, Jiaxing athlete Zhang Tianxin and his teammate Han Guifei from the Chinese team beat the South Korean team with a score of 147-144 to win the gold medal and break the world record.

Zhang Tianxin, 25, is from Shangqinggang village, Xincang town, Pinghu, a county-level city of Jiaxing. He was first introduced to archery in March 2017. At that time, the Hangzhou Sports Training School was recruiting athletes with disabilities in Zhejiang province. Zhang Tianxin came to the archery coach looking for a new challenge and impressed the couch. He then became an archery team W1 player.

On the morning of Oct 28, Zhang will participate in the men's compound bow W1 individual open semi-finals and finals, competing for medals.
