On Jan 1, the Chihai Guantang City Balcony, a new spot for watching the sunrise in Haiyan county, Jiaxing, Zhejiang province, warmly welcomed thousands of visitors eager to witness the new year's first rays of sunshine.

Haiyan county has emerged as a premier destination in recent years for those seeking the most spectacular sunrise in the Yangtze River Delta.

Kong Weiyue, a tourist from Shanghai, expressed, "Writer Yu Hua said Haiyan has the most beautiful sunrise in China. I'm here today to experience it."

The city balcony covers an area of about 6,500 square meters and has three viewing platforms, the highest of which is 13.1 meters. Capable of accommodating 6,000 people simultaneously, it features seven entrances and exits. The platform offers a panoramic view of the sunrise over Hangzhou Bay, complemented by a view of Haiyan's cultural and historical features, such as the 1,000-year-old fish scale stone pond.
