The Ministry of Culture and Tourism recently named eight national demonstration parks for tourism and technology in 2023, including the Wuzhen Scenic Area in Jiaxing, Zhejiang province.

The national demonstration park for tourism and technology is an independent management area dedicated to conducting scientific and technological research and development or applications for the tourism industry. These parks are recognized for achieving notable results and demonstrating significance in the integration of tourism and technology.

The Wuzhen Scenic Area offers a comfortable, smart, and convenient tourism experience to visitors by using technologies such as 5G, artificial intelligence, internet of things, and big data.

It currently provides free WiFi service, self-service ticketing, check-in and luggage storage, face recognition, voice guidance, and other features. It has also collaborated with map service providers to enable precise walking navigation and real-time information on activities within the scenic area.

The night tour of Wuzhen is a popular attraction for tourists, and the scenic area provides a rich experience with various modes and paths for developing night-time culture and tourism economy. It was selected as a national-level nighttime culture and tourism consumption gathering area in 2022.

The scenic area also showcases the internet and connectivity with the World Internet Science and Technology Museum, the world's first large-scale science and technology museum with the internet as the theme, and the Wuzhen Baidu Apollo Park, where visitors can ride in driverless cars.
