The Chinese team shone brightly at the 2024 ICF Canoe Sprint World Cup in Poznan, Poland, on May 25, winning an impressive four gold and two silver medals, as reported by the Chinese Canoe Association.
Among the highlights was Jiaxing native Li Dongyin, who, alongside teammates Yin Mengdie, Wang Nan, and Sun Yuewen, clinched gold in the women's K4 500m with a time of 1 min 32.78 sec, narrowly edging the teams from New Zealand and Poland.
In addition, Wang Congkang and his team achieved a historic best by winning the silver medal in the men's K4 500m event with a time of 1 min 21.36 sec.
Previously, at the 2024 ICF Canoe Sprint World Cup in Szeged, Hungary, Li and her team won bronze in the same event. Following these events, the Chinese canoe team will return home for a seven-week training session before heading to France for the Paris Olympics in August. Li is determined to aim for the top podium spot at the Olympics.
