The 20th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair concluded on May 27, marking a significant event for cultural exchange and industry growth.
Jiaxing's exhibition area in the Zhejiang Pavilion drew attention with its unique intangible cultural heritage resources, ancient town clusters, and innovative products.
Standing out among others was the horse-face skirt exhibit from Xucun town, Haining, known for its fabric artistry. Combining traditional craftsmanship with modern aesthetics, numerous horse-face skirt designs incorporating new technologies premiered at the event. The exhibit saw 188 transactions, generating sales exceeding 30,000 yuan ($4,140).
Visitors showed great interest in many of Jiaxing's cultural and creative products, such as bamboo weaving and Yantian weaving art, resulting in strong offline sales. These products engaged 55 potential clients, with an estimated 400,000 yuan in potential deals.
Notably popular among exhibit attendees were the products showcased by Jiaxing ZMAX Optech Co Ltd, an optical company with expertise in advanced 8K technology. The company secured a preliminary cooperation agreement with a Chinese central State-owned enterprise worth 12 million yuan.
The Pinghu watermelon lantern, another highlight, featured intricately carved designs on hollowed-out watermelons. When lit at night, the lanterns created exquisite shadows shining through the delicate rind.
Overall, Jiaxing's exhibition area achieved 130,000 yuan in online and offline sales, with total intentional transactions reaching 12.4 million yuan. Traditional products like zongzi and preserved eggs also enjoyed strong sales.
