The Hangzhou-Haining Intercity Railway, a modern marvel of regional connectivity, marked its third anniversary on June 28.

In just three years, it has revolutionized travel for over 30 million passengers, becoming a lifeline for the bustling cities it connects. The railway boasts a near-perfect schedule fulfillment rate of 99.99 percent and a punctuality rate of 99.97 percent, and with 229,100 train journeys covering nearly 9.92 million kilometers, it stands out for its reliability and efficiency.

For students like Ren Yuqing and Huang Xinyi, the railway is more than just a mode of transport; it provides a link between their academic pursuits in Hangzhou and their familial roots in Haining. The convenience and efficiency of the service have made it their preferred choice, offering comfort and the added benefit of eco-friendly travel.

Initiated on June 28, 2021, the railway connects Haining and Hangzhou seamlessly. It has not only made commuting easier, but also spurred regional growth by connecting key locations such as the Zhejiang University International Campus and China (Haining) Leather City.

The railway's success is evident in its daily ridership. The highest single-day passenger flow was 84,400, with peak travel times during weekdays from 7 to 8 am and leisure travel dominating weekends and holidays from 9 to 10 am.
