Red tourism booms in Jiaxing
Jiaxing, the birthplace of the Communist Party of China and the "Red Boat Spirit", the origin of China's revolutionary spirit, is thriving with red tourism as the anniversary of the Communist Party of China approaches.
Tourists are flocking to the city to explore its revolutionary heritage, visiting landmarks and memorials that echo the fervor of historical events.
Since May, the Nanhu Scenic Area has seen a surge in visitors, with over 10,000 people visiting on June 29 alone. This trend is expected to continue through the summer, according to Zhuang Libing, deputy general manager of Zhejiang Nanhu Cultural Tourism Group.
Educational tours are particularly popular, with youth groups engaging in activities that highlight the revolutionary legacy. The Nanhu Scenic Area, a provincial educational base, offers enriching experiences for young visitors.
The Nanhu Revolutionary Memorial Hall is a key attraction, featuring numerous restored scenes of historical events. This year, the hall has received 550,000 visitors, an 8.5-percent increase from last year.
The Y701 Nanhu·1921 Red Tourism Train from Shanghai to Jiaxing is also a hit, with 30,000 passengers since March. The train offers interactive activities, including historical narrations and quizzes.
Jiaxing's red tourism sites, such as the Wang Honghe Revolutionary Deeds Exhibition Hall and the Jiaxing Local Party History Exhibition Hall, attract many families. These sites offer a rich array of historical artifacts and vivid recreations of revolutionary scenes, making Jiaxing a vibrant and educational destination for all.
