Jiaxing will host its first-ever Middle East exhibition, the Dubai International Consumer Products Expo (DICPE), from Sept 20 to 27.

A promotional event for the expo was held on July 19, attended by over 100 representatives from various commerce departments and foreign trade enterprises.

The event featured presentations on the opportunities and challenges faced by Chinese enterprises expanding into the Middle East as well as an introduction of the DICPE.

China is the Middle East's largest trading partner, and there is a growing demand for Chinese products in the region. From January to May, Jiaxing's exports to the Middle East reached 10.6 billion yuan ($1.45 billion), accounting for 7.4 percent of the city's total exports.

Dubai, as the world's third-largest re-export trade center, has trade relations with over 400 cities globally, making it a key distribution hub for "Made in China" products in the Middle East.
