The 3rd CAA Armory Wuzhen Granary Art Exhibition, titled "Layered Growth Rings", opened in Wuzhen, Jiaxing, Zhejiang province, on Aug 5, drawing artists, reporters, and art enthusiasts from around the world.
The exhibition, running until Oct 27, features 65 sculptures and crafts by 51 young artists from the China Academy of Art.
These works, displayed in the granary hall and outdoor public spaces of the Xizha Scenic Area, consist of a variety of materials and explore diverse concepts, reflecting on modern society and individual identity. Public space art encourages viewers to reconsider their relationship with the environment and time, while fiber art conveys a delicate perception of life and nature through the weaving of traditional and modern materials.
The granary, originally a 1960s grain management office, was turned into a modern exhibition space in 2017. To enrich the viewing experience, some installations are displayed outdoors, blending with Wuzhen's natural scenery and ancient streets.
The exhibition also includes public education activities, encouraging active participation and stimulating creativity.
