Nabil, originally from Yemen, came to China in 1986 to study at Tongji University in Shanghai, where he met his wife while pursuing his master's degree.

In 2016, they opened a hanfu shop in Xitang County, Jiaxing, Zhejiang. After living in China for 30 years, hot water, wool sweaters, and hanfu have become essential parts of Nabil's life.
