Summer travel season ends in Jiaxing with record passenger trips
The summer travel season has come to a close in Jiaxing, Zhejiang province, with major railway stations collectively overseeing more than 2 million passenger trips. Most travelers were students, tourists and those visiting friends and relatives.
Jiaxing South Railway Station saw a total of 1.5 million departures and 1.6 million arrivals, both 15-percent year-on-year increases. During the summer travel season, Jiaxing South Railway Station averaged 1,300 passengers on four outbound trains per day, with the G108 bound for Beijing reaching a daily average of 500 passengers.
To ensure a smooth and safe travel experience for passengers, the high-speed railway station dynamically adjusted its opening hours based on actual passenger flow and deployed volunteers to provide guidance services.
The Jiaxing Railway Station handled a total of 523,000 passengers, with an average daily departure of around 9,000 people, primarily heading to the provinces of Yunnan, Guizhou and Sichuan and the cities of Chongqing, Nanjing and Suzhou.
Children accounted for 8 percent of all passengers. The railway departments optimized the deployment of passenger transportation, promptly arranged additional security checkpoints and stationed personnel to enhance safety awareness and reminders for children waiting for trains.
Additionally, railway stations in Jiaxing offered free charging facilities and informative sessions to create a reassuring, trustworthy and comfortable travel environment for all.
