Jiaxing in East China's Zhejiang province, in collaboration with the China Economic Cooperation Center, hosted a matchmaking conference for business communities from Jiaxing and Andalusia autonomous community, Spain, on Sept 2.
Nearly 90 representatives from the political and business sectors of Spain and Jiaxing participated in the event.
With the theme "Enhancing Friendly Exchanges to Promote Win-Win Development", the matchmaking conference featured specialized presentations by the authorities of Andalusia, the Foreign Affairs Office of the Jiaxing Municipal People's Government and the Jiaxing Bureau of Commerce on the economic and social development, business, investment, and trade in both regions.
Representatives from industrial parks, trade enterprises and business associations in Jiaxing engaged in group discussions and negotiations with the Spanish delegation, focusing on in-depth collaborations in areas such as the port industry, transportation, advanced manufacturing, green energy, and cultural tourism, laying a solid foundation for furthering economic and trade cooperation between the two sides.
Last year marked the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Spain. As a vital hub in the Yangtze River Delta region, Jiaxing boasts significant advantages and a crucial position in key sectors such as aerospace, chemical energy and modern agriculture.
The city has established investment and trade relations with over 200 countries and regions worldwide, making it a high-quality foreign investment hub in Zhejiang province.
Andalusia, known for its strategic location, is home to a highly developed economy and industries as well as abundant cultural and tourism offerings. It aligns well with Jiaxing, with strong potential for collaboration.
Both parties aim to leverage the event to expand trade exchanges, strengthen investment cooperation, deepen cultural exchanges, and propel friendly relations to new heights.
