The China National Textile and Apparel Council announced on Sept 10 that the 8th China Textile Intangible Cultural Heritage Conference will be held from Nov 14 to 16 in Xucun town, Haining, a county-level city of Jiaxing, Zhejiang province.

Since its inception in 2017, the conference has become a key platform for exchange and cooperation related to textile intangible cultural heritage, integrating culture, industry, academia, commerce, and design. It has played a significant role in promoting the protection and sustainable development of textile intangible cultural heritage.

This year, the conference has shifted its focus to economically developed coastal areas, particularly textile industry clusters like Xucun. Known for its rich textile history and innovative spirit, Xucun is at a critical stage in its industrial transformation, blending traditional techniques with modern fashion.

Xucun's thriving industrial cluster, with nearly 8,000 home textile businesses and over 2,000 enterprises, forms a full industrial chain ecosystem. The area is also home to the China Haining Home Textile Market, a leading market in the industry.

This year's conference will feature textile intangible cultural heritage reports, the announcement of new "China Textile Intangible Cultural Heritage Promotion Ambassadors," an opening show, an exhibition of excellent works, conferences, academic forums, and seminars. The event promises to bring new perspectives and innovations to the textile industry.
