The 35th Nanjing Wool Market Conference began in Puyuan town, Tongxiang, a county-level city of Jiaxing, Zhejiang province, on Sept 24.

Over 400 global wool textile entrepreneurs, professionals, and scholars gathered to discuss sustainable development in the industry.

This year's conference, with the tagline "Love Wool, @Future," focuses on technological innovation, green transformation, market trends, and brand promotion. The event was meant to invigorate the wool textile industry and foster global collaboration.

Puyuan, a major hub for wool textile products in China, sells over 700 million wool sweaters annually, with sales exceeding 130 billion yuan ($18.51 billion), accounting for over 70 percent of the national market.

As a pillar industry, the wool textile industry has driven significant changes in Tongxiang's industry, urban landscape, and living standards.

Leading the industry, Zhejiang Xinao Textiles Inc focuses on digital transformation and has become a global leader in worsted wool yarns, while Zhejiang Redsun Wool Textile Co Ltd has unveiled a new intelligent base, featuring smart warehouses and digital workshops and showcasing cutting-edge technology. Zhejiang Yongjin Biotechnology Co Ltd, meanwhile, has developed sustainable, pure biological products for the wool textile industry.

Vice-Mayor Yao Fuqiang highlighted Tongxiang's top-tier business environment and support for the industry's growth, inviting more high-quality projects to take root in Tongxiang.
