The first International Academic Conference on Zhu Yizun's Research commenced in Jiaxing, Zhejiang province, on Oct 12.
Over 80 experts and scholars from over 40 research institutions, including Japan's Toyo University and Osaka University, South Korea's Chonnam National University, and Peking University, participated to discuss Zhu's cultural value.
The conference began with five scholars presenting their insights into Zhu's life and work.
The three-day event focuses on Zhu's life, work, and academic achievements, aiming to enhance international academic exchange, deepen research, improve interpretations of his work, and explore his cultural significance. The event is part of Xiuzhou district's efforts to promote Zhu's legacy and boost its cultural prominence.
Zhu, founder of the Western Zhejiang Ci (a traditional Chinese poetry form) School, made significant contributions to poetry, history, and literature. Since the establishment of the Zhu Yizun Research Association in 2003, efforts to study and promote his legacy have increased, leading to the creation of the Zhu Yizun Research Center at Jiaxing University.
Xiuzhou's Wangdian town, Zhu's hometown, has hosted 19 annual cultural events in his honor, further popularizing his legacy through publications, competitions, and documentaries.
In the future, Xiuzhou will continue to promote Zhu's heritage, integrating it into local education and advancing the study of traditional Chinese culture.
