The "Royal Treasures – Special Exhibition of Ming Dynasty Jing Palace Artifacts from Qichun County Museum" opened at the Tongxiang Museum on Dec 3.

The exhibition features over 100 exquisite artifacts, offering a glimpse into the political, material, and cultural aspects of the Ming Dynasty (1368–1644).

Among the 128 items on display, there are gold and silver jewelry, vessels, ceramics, and jade artifacts. Notably, 29 items are classified as first-class national treasures, with the rest being second and third-class relics. These artifacts were unearthed from the tombs of the Jing Vassal Prince and show the luxurious lifestyle and craftsmanship of the Ming royal family.

The Jing Vassal Princes, the longest-lasting princely line in Hubei province, played a crucial role in guarding strategic locations from 1445 to 1643. The artifacts, adorned with intricate designs of dragons, phoenixes, flowers, and birds, reflect the sophisticated artistry and opulent life of the royal family.

Wang Hongbin, director of Qichun County Museum, highlighted that the exhibition is divided into four sections: Royal Guardians, Ceremonial Attire, Golden Crafts, and Regal Artifacts. These sections form a vivid picture of the Jing royal family's life and history.

The exhibition will run until Mar 1, 2025. Visitors can see these artifacts at the Tongxiang Museum's first-floor exhibition hall, which is open from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm (last entry at 4:00 pm) and closed on Mondays except for public holidays.
