Jiaxing Port kicked off the year by handling over 1.5 million metric tons of foreign cargo in January, a 3.94 percent year-on-year increase.

Container throughput surged 30.41 percent to 355,700 TEUs, marking the highest January figures in the port's history.

Capitalizing on new opportunities from the Yangtze River Delta integration, the Jiaxing Maritime Safety Administration has revamped its oversight approach, integrating regional coordination, digital tools, and enhanced services to fuel port expansion.

To streamline operations, the authority consolidated 14 administrative processes, slashing approval times for critical goods by more than 80 percent.

The municipal maritime authorities said that Jiaxing aims to refine its maritime governance and bolster Zhejiang's efforts to develop a world-class port network.
