Zhejiang University's international campus in Haining has become a meeting point for global talent. At a recent career Fair, more than 500 students met with recruiters from over 40 companies.

The event, the campus's largest annual recruiting fair, was tailored to match local industry needs with student expertise. Job openings spanned manufacturing, finance, biotech, electronics, and services, with both internships and full-time roles on offer.

Giacomo Pizzo, a China Studies master's student from Italy, was attending his first job fair in China. "It's a lot to take in, but I wanted to see how things work here," he said. He planned to stay and work in China after graduation, so he came to explore job options and understand the market.

The fair wasn't just international in turnout — many roles themselves were global. Companies sought candidates for positions based in Malaysia, Singapore, Italy, and other markets.

"This is what we want to see — students and companies showing up for each other," said Bruce Alter, director of career development at Zhejiang University International Business School. He added that continued improvement in local work and startup policies for foreigners could help more international students build careers in China.
